Custom Night

After you beat Night 6 in Five Nights at Freddy’s, you will be able to obtain a pink termination slip and unlock the Custom Night or the seventh night.

In Five Nights at Freddy’s game, players are allowed to set or change the difficulty level (A.I) of animatronics, except Golden Freddy. Thus, you can choose the difficulty to any number from 0 to 20. When you establish the A.I level for these scary monsters with the high degree, your challenge will become harder.

The animatronics will act following the setting that you have chosen. The higher the A.I. is set, the more active and aggressive they will be.

Level 0

If you pick level 0, you can utterly disable the enemy during all night of Fnaf game. So, Bonnie and Chica will only wander around the Show Stage at the later hours and Freddy will never move while Foxy doesn’t appear in the Pirate Cove. But, you should remember that Freddy will often visit you when the power goes out regardless of his selected difficulty setting. To stay alive in that situation, there is only a way that is if the clock rolls over to 6 AM before his tune ends or before his attack.

Freddy Fazbear

Freddy is the least active animatronics on every level. From level 1 and 2, he is very aggressive. When you use these settings, you can reduce the dying chance from him. From level 3- 6, he will become more active and he can start to behave like he does in Night 3. On level 7-12, Freddy is very active. On level 13 – 20, he is most active and he can attack at almost if he has the opportunity to enter. From this moment, you have to get rid of him by shutting the right door each time you pull up the Monitor. Or, you can keep the camera on the East Hall corner of Five Nights at Freddy’s and close the right door when you’d like to check other cameras. Be careful of this character when the power goes out! Freddy can delay before and after his jingle. This song might be longer (its maximum time is 20 seconds).

Bonnie and Chica

These animatronic animals have the similar behavior. If they work at the same level, Bonnie will be more active then Chica, except the level 20. From level 1- 2, they act like they did on Night 1. From level 3 – 6, they appear more. From level 13 – 20, they are present frequently. They are also much more adept at disabling the door and light. At level 20, they can appear at the same frequency. You will not have more chance to close the door. When you see one of them in their blind spot at A.I 20, you have only one or two seconds to shut the door before they invade and disable the lights and doors. When they are set to A.I 18 and Foxy is at A.I 12, Bonnie will almost control Foxy. After he appears at the door and is warded off, Foxy will make a break to kill you.

Foxy’s level can determine his appearing frequency in Fnaf game as well as how adept he is when attacking you and how fast he can reappear in Pirate Cove. From the level 1 and 2, he will act as he did in Night 1. From level 3 – 6, you must reduce his frequency of viewing Pirate Cove. From level 7 – 12, Foxy can stand in Pirate Cove faster and attack more. From level 13 – 20, he will strike much more and appear or reappear in Pirate Cove quicker. On level 20, Foxy can reappear almost immediately after having attacked.

Completing the Custom Night

After you beat the Custom Night, you will get a “Notice of Termination”. It says that you were fired for tampering with animatronics, General unprofessionalism, and Odor.Custom Night

Special Input Codes

Currently, you can find three special codes to put them on the A.I difficulty screen.

When you set the difficulty levels to zero, it will not disable four robots. But, this mode is perfect to look for hidden Easter Eggs or save changes in the restaurant as the night ticks on. Although you can be caught by Bonnie and Chica in later hours, it is very infrequent.

When the power in Five Nights at Freddy’s goes out, Freddy will come and kill you unless the night ends before this happens. Although his A.I is 0, he can still boot. Keep tabs on Pirate Cove when you explore this mode!

It is nicknamed “4/20 Mode” or “Nightmare Mode” by the community. It is the most difficulty setting in Five Nights at Freddy’s. All animatronic robots are highly active. Scott Cawthon hinted many times that it is close to impossible.

If you can survive, you will unlock the third and final star. Twitch gamer BigBugz and YouTuber Markiplier are the persons can complete the mode.

There are two most common strategies that fans of Fnaf game can use to conquer 20/20/20/20.

The first strategy:

  • Shut the right door every time the Monitor is lifted to prevent Freddy.
  • Open the Monitor and take a look at Pirate Cove to track Foxy. If he is triggered, shut the left door quickly before checking the West Hall.
  • Close the Monitor, open the right door and check the Hall Lights for Bonnie with Chica. If one of them is at the doors, close and open when they leave.
  • Repeat!

(This strategy is useful if Freddy plays the longer jingle.)

And the next one:

  • Open the Monitor and look at the East Hall Corner for Freddy.
  • Close the Monitor and check the Hall Lights. Close it if you see Bonnie or Chica at the door.
  • Activate the Monitor and check the East Hall Corner for Freddy as well as Pirate Cove for foxy. Shut the left door to stop Foxy before you supervise the West Hall.
  • Turn off the Monitor and repeat.

(This strategy will not ask Freddy playing the longer jingle. But, it is more dangerous than the former)

In the version 1.13, you can’t enjoy the Custom Night with this setting. When you enter this code, you will trigger Golden Freddy’s kill screen which closes the game after that. It was added by Scott to prevent false rumors related to The Bite of ’87.Custom Night

  • The tactic which is used at most to beat 20/20/20/20 is to check Pirate Cove on cameras. First, check the left door’s light for Bonnie. Next, check the right door’s light for Chica. Only check Pirate Cove shortly before shutting the right door and turn on the camera. Repeat! If Foxy leaves, close the left door and wait for him to bang on the door. When this sound starts, reopen the left door and repeat. Just keep two doors shut if Bonnie and Chica stand there. Freddy can attack if you can’t close the right door before pulling up the monitor or going out of sequence.
  • Secondly, we will talk about the less common tactic to defeat 20/20/20/20 in Five Nights at Freddy’s. That is to only check the East Hall Corner. It helps you keep Foxy at bay while you pull the camera up without closing the door because Freddy is also being viewed. Then, you can check the East Hall corner before closing the camera and checking the hall’s lights. Repeat this during night. If you reach 5 AM, the power is 3 to 5%. From that time, Freddy will play his longer jingle at the end. And you can win the night.
    • You are able to combine two strategies above when checking the East Hall Corner very regularly and Pirate Cove only randomly. Remember to pay attention to the lights for Bonnie or Chica and the doors if they appear.
      • Try to save a little power if you want to complete 20/20/20/20 by using the right door and cameras quickly! If you click the button and the door is not disabled, Freddy can’t enter. If you do this throughout the night, you can save up to 2-3% power.
      • You should not use the monitor, turn on the light or shut the door when you have only 4-5% power left. Freddy or Foxy can kill you.
      • You are recommended to check Pirate Cove for Foxy in the hardest modes. Also, check cameras as fast as possible. If Foxy bangs at the door more than twice during the night, you need to restart because he can drain much more power each time he does this.

  • Finishing the Custom Night will not give the third star unless you set all A.I’s characters to 20.
  • As of August 21, 2014, BigBugz and Markiplier completed 20/20/20/20 mode. In Bigbugz’s video, you can find it is possible while Markiplier’s will explain the strategy that he used. Besides, there are many people who won this mode since then.
  • The rumors about entering 0/6/6/6 or 6/6/6/6 will enable the Kitchen camera was proven false. Also, the rumors about entering 2/0/1/5 into the Custom Night settings will unlock an Easter egg for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was false.
  • After unlocking the Custom Night, the default A.I settings are 1/3/3/1. It is closest to Night 1.
  • Scott also stated that the reason why 4/20 Mode lacks a special ending is because the thought it was impossible.
  • The strategy beating 20/20/20/20 without losing all of the power has been found. Watch the video showing this strategy here
  • In the A.I. customization image of Foxy, he starts to appear damaged. It means that Foxy’s photo was taken after he got shut down. No one can explain this.
  • If all A.I levels of Five Nights at Freddy’s are established to zero, Foxy’s A.I. level will be set to 20. And, if the left door is shut all time, Foxy will drain the power by banging at the door in about 3 minutes and 5 seconds.
  • If Freddy’s A.I level is set to 20 while Bonnie and Chica’s are at 0 level, Freddy will have to stay on the stage until the later hours when Bonnie and Chica leave it even though Freddy’s very aggressive.
  • For the mobile versions, there will no difficulty specification for the A.I. levels listed.
  • There are 5,985 A.I. level combinations, 5,984 being played.
